When a beauty pageant decade ends

In a few days the 2009 Miss Universe Pageant will begin and will take all the missologists’ attention. This beauty pageant will close a decade full of changes. A decade which started with a Indian smart beauty (Miss Universe 2000: India, Lara Dutta) which was replaced by the phenomenal Puerto Rican unquiet beauty (Miss Universe 2001: Puerto Rico, Denise Quinones). Then, all start to change and a fresh positioning was seen, the Russian goddess (Miss Universe 2002: Russia, Oxana Fedorova) was dethroned and a chameleon model (Miss Universe 2002 first runner up: Panama, Justine Pasek) became the first first-runner up to take over. The next year a fierce latina queen (Miss Universe 2003: Dominican Rep., Amelia Vega) reigned. And then the world was shocked by a new way to compete and a whole new miss universe standard. Finally the freshness and a true beauty modern queen (Miss Universe 2004: Australia, Jennifer Hawkins) won, which represents the new millennium woman beauty. After it, the hole world thought the next miss universe would be a modern and fresh beauty, but the cold doll (Miss Universe 2005: Canada, Natalie Glebova) ruled. Thanks God, the miss universe become hot and magic mixing the old days and a new beauty concept represented by a loved and hated beauty queen (Miss Universe 2006: Puerto Rico, Zuleyka Rivera). Next time we met we saw the Orient shows its beauty charming power (Miss Universe 2007: Japan, Riyo Mori). And then the latina goddess (Miss Universe 2008: Venezuela, Dayana Mendoza) shows us that there’s a way to be a complete and fulfilling beauty queen.
